Elmore Files for NC Senate Seat

North Wilkesboro Commissioner Jeffrey Elmore files in race for NC Senate, District 45

North Wilkesboro, NC (February 15, 2010) – Today, Jeffrey Elmore, teacher and Commissioner in the Town of North Wilkesboro officially files for election in the North Carolina Senate in District 45 at the Wilkes County Board of Elections in Wilkesboro. Commissioner Elmore made the following statement:

“The citizens of Alexander, Ashe, Watauga and Wilkes counties are suffering. The liberal bureaucratic policies of our state have made it hard for us to hold on to our values, because it seems little comes our way. From Raleigh’s
viewpoint, the state seems to end at Interstate 77.  It is time to send a candidate who cares about and believes in our district.  I will take our common sense values to Raleigh and work to change the corruption and sense of entitlement
that is hurting those in need, in our district.”

Elmore enters the race with an endorsement from former NC House Representative for the 94th District, Tracy Walker. The four-term Representative states:

“Jeffrey Elmore is the person we need in Raleigh. He is hard working and will help with our people’s needs. His experience as a Town Commissioner and his values make him the person we need to vote for in this election.”

Jeffrey Elmore, a Wilkes native, was elected to the North Wilkesboro Board of Commissioners in 2007 and served on the town’s planning board prior to his election. He currently represents North Wilkesboro on the Blue Ridge
Opportunity Commission (BROC) board of directors, an entity that serves underprivileged and elderly in Ashe, Alleghany, and Wilkes Counties.
